Overall a well-maintained excellent central hotel. Everything was very good as expected, even so the bathroom was dirty. We liked that there was a lovely restaurant on site.

The hotel was spacious, and the meals were excellent, I liked the ideal location not far from the railway station and rail museum and York Minister, the city walls. The rooms were pleasantly decorated and the service great.

Stuff is extremely polite, breakfast freshly cooked, location is perfect near to railway station and main attractions and the city centre.

We loved being there. Accommodation was reasonably spacious and beautifully decorated, beds were amazing. Historic style hotel with beautiful furniture in the rooms. Prime location, not very far from bettys cafe tea rooms.

Everything was simply fabulous. Reasonably sized rooms, absolutely fantastic staff, contemporary hotel. Our room had a nice bed and an lovely view. The service in the property was impeccable too.

Positive staff, impeccable location, everything was brand-new. The restaurant was nice and the food was decent. Glad that the weather was warm sunny, so I could enjoy its heated pool.

Loved food and rooms. Pool was good and beds were fine. The restaurant onsite was PLEASANT with cool dishes.

Generally, it's beautiful old place, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Breakfast was sensational and the hotel was generally fairly clean. The views from our very comfy bedroom were wonderful! Handy location, within walking distance of bettys cafe tea rooms. Luxe place with attentive service too. In fact, we loved a free wifi provided in the venue.

Dog friendly, 10 minute walk to shops, close to all the attractions of York

Spacious bed and favourable location. Really enjoyed that they had onsite restaurant The Rise, no need to go somewhere else. The room was good sized. The housekeeping staff was doing a nice job. Excellent base for exploring York.

The breakfast was EXCELLENT, thought you can also visit bettys cafe tea rooms, located in 1000 feet. Location an easy walk to everything we needed, like york castle museum.
